Chinese Practice Sheet Generator

Enter any Chinese text, choose a font, grid and tracing style, then generate a printable practice sheet.

Print tip: enable “Background graphics” in your print dialog so the grid lines show up.

Enter Chinese text, adjust grid and style, then click “Generate” to preview and print.

How it works

Four steps from text to a printable sheet—free, no account needed.

1. Type your text

Enter the characters, words or sentence you want to practise—a name, HSK vocabulary, a poem.

2. Pick a grid & style

Tian, Mi or plain squares, with solid, light or outline tracing.

3. Choose a font

Six styles—default, Songti, Kaiti, Fangsong, Heiti and Lishu—previewed right on the buttons.

4. Generate & print

Click Generate to preview the sheet, then print. Keep “Background graphics” on so the grid lines appear.

Who it’s for

Parents

Turn your child’s name or tricky characters into a sheet that is ready for the printer.

Brush & pen beginners

Use the Tian grid to feel each character’s proportions before moving on to plain paper.

Teachers & tutors

Generate class sets by lesson or word list and print a sheet for every student.

FAQ

Is the worksheet generator free?

Yes—100% free, no account and no sign-up. Type your text, generate and print as often as you like.

Can I use any Chinese text?

Any characters and common punctuation: single characters, words, names, poetry or textbook sentences. Line breaks and spaces are ignored, and every character gets its own cell.

Which grid should I choose?

Beginners usually start with the Tian grid—the cross lines help you place strokes—or the Mi grid, which adds diagonals. Plain squares suit learners who already know a character’s structure.

Why are the grid lines missing when I print?

Enable “Background graphics” in your browser’s print dialog (usually under “More settings” in Chrome and Edge) so the grid lines show up.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes—it works in any mobile browser and the grid scales to fit your screen. For printing, opening the page on a computer gives the best result.
